AT ISSA INTERCLEAN 2010, COMAC FOCUSES ONCE AGAIN ON INNOVATION!
“At the great Dutch tradefair”, explains Comac president and leader Giancarlo Ruffo,
“we presented a complete range of highly competitive machines”
Ruffo Group's presence at Issa Interclean 2010, held in Amsterdam from 26 to 29 April, left a distinctive mark of quality and all-round innovation. The four companies grouped under the name of the well-known family of entrepreneurs were present at an elegant stand covering 1.000 sq.m (the largest seen at the event).
The Verona tradenames were important, star players in the prestigious international showcase of specialised cleaning, where Italian products have always taken pride of place. The display labelled "Comac" was rich and complete, characterised by numerous technological innovations. A full, enviable range of machines and equipment for environmental hygiene (scrubbing machines, sweeping machines, industrial suction units, vacuum cleaners, wet vacuum cleaners, single disc machines), which were constantly in the limelight during the four intense days of the fair. In particular, for this principal trade event of the year Comac exhibited an entirely renewed range in the strategic area of scrubbing machines - both walk-behind and ride-on models.
The “jewels” - two walk-behind versions called Nuova Abila and Nuova Simpla - met with great success. Highly innovative, quiet, sturdy machines that are also very reliable and user-friendly. Our partners and the professional operators warmly welcomed into the Comac “home” also revealed notable appreciation for the new versions of Media, suitable for both routine and deep-down cleaning. And the same excellent reception also awaited the larger ride-on models, recommended for cleaning larger areas and dealing with more ingrained dirt. From the “renewed ride-on Tripla 60/65/75 B - 24 BS, compact and quiet; to Flexy 75/85 B - 70 BS - 85 BS, and then UItra 85/100 B and 85 BS. Visitors found these models striking for their perfect blend of design elegance, excellent working comfort, optimum performance and top range “plus factors” (tank capacity, minimised noise level, suction power), along with the maximum attention given during the design phase to environmental protection and energy savings, with an intelligent Comac-patented system that consumes less water and detergent (CDS, Comac Dosing System).
The new sweeping machines stood out on the “catwalk” too; this area has its own production division, in which Comac is investing with great determination and trust. The entire range of the industrial line was on show in Amsterdam: the well-known models CS 80/90 and CS 100/120 (powerful, handy machines that are already esteemed by users and ensure excellent results in terms of surface yield), are now complemented by the addition of the CS 110, a version that lies halfway between the two previous ones as it is smaller and more economically viable. “The fair”, says Mr. Giancarlo Ruffo, president of the Group and Managing Director of Comac Spa, “went even better than we'd imagined: the number of visitors was considerable, especially in view of the difficulties with air transport in those days, due to the eruption of the volcano in Iceland that brought European airports to a standstill.
At the Group's stand, the days were very full for all the personnel that took part; I'd like to congratulate and thank them for their hard work. I feel that our innovation-based strategy met with a lot of interest and encouraging appreciation, both from the dealers and the normal visitors who flocked to see us. We received many compliments, even from our competitors, because the machines on display were considered attractive, modern and handy with their many potential ways of dealing with every type of surface cleaning problem. I believe that during Issa Interclean 2010, the Ruffo Group sent out a very precise message to the market - an important and unmistakable signal: it's both possible and necessary to follow the road of innovation even in times of recession and reduced consumption.
Unfortunately, however, my feeling and worry is that very few are following our entrepreneurial formula: to be frank, in Holland it seemed that many manufacturers would rather miss that opportunity to move forward by focusing on research and innovation, as my Group has done. In just two years, Comac has totally revolutionised its range of scrubbing machines, which have always been its “core business”. The last comment of the president with regards innovation is dedicated to the product that he is really concentrating all his enthusiasm on: the sweeping machines. The prospects are highly positive in this area too. "Our range in the industrial segment is now complete and particularly competitive; it's a pity about the crisis that is hitting our target customers, from industry to workshops, warehouses and deposits. We're hopeful, however, that there will soon be a reversal of the trend; this is already the case for the scrubbing machines, for which we're now seeing a growth in sales.
Over the coming months we aim to focus on road sweeping machines, putting them forward mainly to the municipalities and municipal concerns: so far the tests performed on the first models (again produced with an innovative hydraulic system like the prototype of the CS 140) have given very good results."
